The Question We Seldom Ask

What if the light you have been searching for has always been within you?

Every year, millions of lamps illuminate the world during Diwali and Tihar. Homes glow with candlelight. Temples come alive with prayers. Families gather to celebrate blessings, prosperity, hope and new beginnings.

But beyond the beauty of these sacred celebrations lies a question we seldom ask ourselves. We spend so much time illuminating the world around us. When was the last time we illuminated the darkness within?

What we carry

  • The wounds we pretend have healed.
  • The memories we thought we had forgotten.
  • The disappointments we have buried beneath a smile.
  • The relationships we have physically walked away from but remain emotionally attached to.
  • The fears that quietly dictate our choices.
  • The guilt, regrets and unspoken emotions that continue to occupy space within our hearts.

How much of your past are you still carrying into your future?

Perhaps you have tried to forgive. Perhaps you have tried to forget. Perhaps you have told yourself countless times that you have already moved on. Yet something within you still feels unfinished. Something still holds you back. Something still pulls you towards the same emotional patterns, familiar struggles and invisible limitations.

And perhaps what you need is not another blessing, another prayer or another wish. Perhaps it is time to release.

Welcome to The Sacred Fire of Release

An inner work experience inspired by the sacred wisdom of Diwali and Nepal's Tihar, created to guide you into the depths of your inner world, where awareness meets transformation, where attachments are examined, and where the possibility of a new beginning awaits.

This is more than a workshop. It is an invitation to confront what has remained hidden, honour what has shaped you, and reclaim the light you may have forgotten you possess.

Diwali and Tihar

When light becomes a sacred reminder

Diwali, also known as Deepavali, is one of the most celebrated spiritual festivals in the world. Its name comes from the Sanskrit words Dipa, meaning light or lamp, and Avali, meaning a row or series. Together, Deepavali signifies a row of lights.

Across Hindu traditions the festival celebrates the triumph of light over darkness, wisdom over ignorance and righteousness over destructive forces. It is associated with the return of Lord Rama, the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi, and sacred stories of victory, prosperity and renewal.

In Nepal the festival is celebrated as Tihar, a magnificent 5 day celebration honouring divine blessings, animals, family bonds, gratitude, prosperity and the sacredness of life.

But beyond the rituals, decorations and festivities there is a deeper invitation. To remember that darkness is not always something outside us.

Sometimes darkness is

  • Ignorance
  • Fear
  • Resentment
  • Attachment
  • Self-doubt
  • The inability to forgive
  • The part of ourselves we have refused to acknowledge

And light is

  • Awareness
  • Understanding
  • Compassion
  • The courage to see ourselves clearly and choose differently

The greatest celebration of light is not the number of lamps we illuminate, but the consciousness we awaken within ourselves. This special workshop draws upon the spiritual symbolism of Diwali and Tihar to explore what it truly means to move from darkness into illumination. Not merely through intellectual understanding, but through an experience that invites your mind, body, heart and spirit to participate.

The Sacred Fire

The power to transform

Fire has fascinated humanity since the beginning of civilisation. It can warm and illuminate. It can consume and destroy. Yet it can also transform.

In Hindu spiritual traditions Agni, the sacred deity of fire, holds a profound place in Vedic ceremonies and offerings. Fire becomes a symbol of transformation, purification and the sacred relationship between the human and the divine.

But have you ever considered the fire that burns within you?

The fires we carry

  • The fire of anger
  • The fire of grief
  • The fire of disappointment
  • The fire of jealousy
  • The fire of longing
  • The fire of expectations that were never fulfilled

Some fires give us strength. Others quietly consume our peace.

  1. 01

What if the very emotions that have been weighing you down could become the beginning of your awakening?

  2. 02

What if your pain could become wisdom?

  3. 03

What if your disappointments could become clarity?

  4. 04

What if your attachments could teach you the meaning of freedom?

  5. 05

What if the fire you have been afraid to face is the very fire that illuminates your path forward?

The Sacred Fire of Release is an invitation to stop running from your shadows and begin discovering the wisdom they may hold.

Because transformation does not always require us to become someone new. Sometimes it begins when we finally stop holding on to who we no longer need to be.

Karma and the Invisible Cords

Why do certain experiences keep repeating in our lives?

  • Why do we attract familiar patterns in relationships?
  • Why do some people continue to affect us long after they have left?
  • Why do old memories still awaken powerful emotions?
  • Why do we sometimes struggle to release something we consciously know is no longer good for us?

In Hindu and Buddhist philosophies karma is deeply connected to intentional action, its consequences and the patterns we cultivate through our choices. Within contemporary spiritual language we also speak of karmic cords, symbolic connections representing emotional attachments, unresolved experiences and habitual patterns that continue to influence us.

Some are formed through love. Some through fear. Some through guilt, resentment or obligation. Others through expectations, promises, disappointments and experiences that have shaped our beliefs about ourselves and the world.

Not all connections are meant to be severed. Not all memories are meant to be forgotten. And not every difficult experience is something we must reject. But there comes a time when we must ask,

Am I carrying this because it still serves my growth, or because I do not know how to let it go?

You may have left the relationship,

but are you still carrying the hurt?

You may have forgiven the person,

but have you released the resentment?

You may have achieved success,

but are you still living with the fear of failure?

You may have travelled far, learned much and experienced profound spiritual moments,

but have you truly allowed those experiences to change the way you live?

You cannot always change what happened to you. But you can begin changing the power it holds over your choices today.

The Sacred Fire of Release invites you to explore these invisible attachments and make a conscious commitment to move forward with greater awareness, clarity and freedom. Because true liberation is not about erasing your past. It is about no longer allowing your past to become the prison of your future.

What Awaits You

A guided experiential journey in 4 parts

This is not an ordinary lecture or a session where you simply listen and take notes. It brings together ancient spiritual symbolism, contemporary inner work and embodied practices. Each part leads you deeper, from understanding to awareness, from awareness to conscious release, and from release to renewal.

01

The Wisdom of Light and Shadow

Ancient teachings · Spiritual insights · Inner awakening

Journey beyond the celebrations of Diwali and Tihar to discover the deeper spiritual meanings of fire, light, darkness, karma and liberation. Explore how ancient symbolism offers meaningful perspectives on the emotional patterns and attachments we experience in modern life, and why illumination is not simply about attracting more blessings, but about developing the awareness to recognise what may be obstructing our growth.

Before we can transform what is within us, we must first become willing to see it.

02

The Breath of Liberation

Conscious breathwork · Inner connection · Emotional awareness

Your breath accompanies you through every experience of your life. Through moments of joy. Through fear and uncertainty. Through grief, excitement, exhaustion and change. Yet how often do you consciously return to it? Guided breathwork designed to encourage presence, relaxation and a deeper awareness of your inner world, away from the constant noise of daily life.

Sometimes the first step towards letting go is simply allowing ourselves the space to feel, breathe and be present.

04

The Sacred Sound of Renewal

Immersive sound healing · Stillness · Integration

After the teachings, breathwork and release ceremony, we conclude through the soothing resonance of sound. Settle into an immersive sound healing meditation with singing bowls, gentle vibrations and moments of stillness. A space to rest. A space to reconnect. A space to integrate the intentions you have created.

No expectations. No pressure. Nothing to prove. Simply allow yourself to rest in the possibility of a new beginning.

Is This For You

Are you still carrying what you were meant to outgrow?

This experience may be especially meaningful for you if

  • You feel emotionally burdened by past experiences or relationships.
  • You struggle to let go, even when you know it is time.
  • You repeatedly encounter familiar emotional or relationship patterns.
  • You carry guilt, resentment, regret or unspoken feelings.
  • You feel disconnected from your inner peace or personal direction.
  • You are entering a new chapter but feel held back by old fears.
  • You are seeking greater awareness of karma, attachment and personal responsibility.
  • You are drawn to spiritual wisdom, inner work, breathwork and sound healing.
  • You have recently experienced a major transition or a meaningful spiritual journey.
  • You simply feel that something within you is ready for change.

You do not need to have joined the Nepal Soul's Journey to take part. This experience is open to anyone who feels called to explore the light within.

No previous experience with meditation, breathwork or spiritual rituals is required.

What Could Change

What could change when you begin to let go?

Dozens of lit diya lamps floating on dark water at night
  • Imagine no longer feeling compelled to respond to every trigger from your past.
  • Imagine recognising an old pattern before repeating it.
  • Imagine remembering a painful experience without allowing it to define your entire identity.
  • Imagine making decisions from clarity rather than fear.
  • Imagine carrying forward the wisdom of your experiences without carrying every burden that came with them.

This is the possibility we will explore together. Through this workshop you will be invited to cultivate

Awareness

Recognise the patterns, beliefs and attachments influencing your life.

Understanding

Explore the relationship between karma, intention and conscious choices.

Release

Take part in a meaningful symbolic ceremony of letting go.

Reconnection

Return to yourself through guided reflection and breathwork.

Renewal

Create intentions that support the next chapter of your journey.

Inner Stillness

Conclude with a deeply restful and reflective sound healing experience.

No ritual can guarantee the removal of karma, emotional wounds or life's challenges. The power of this experience lies in the awareness, choices and meaningful actions you carry beyond it. Because the greatest transformation is not always what happens during a sacred ceremony. It is what you choose to do differently after it ends.

For Those Who Walked With Us

The journey does not end when we return home

For those who have journeyed with us through the sacred lands of Nepal, this experience holds another layer of meaning.

We have walked beneath majestic mountains. We have witnessed the power of rushing rivers. We have stood before sacred places, offered prayers and encountered landscapes that reminded us how extraordinary life truly is. We have laughed. We have struggled. Some of us have cried. And somewhere along the journey, something within us may have begun to open.

But a pilgrimage is not measured merely by the distance we travel. It is measured by how deeply the journey changes the way we live. What happens after we return home? Do we fall back into the same patterns? Do we continue carrying the same burdens? Or do we honour what we have experienced by making conscious changes in our lives?

Our Nepal Soul's Journey, The Wish-Fulfilling Flame, was an invitation to awaken. The Sacred Fire of Release is an invitation to carry that awakening forward. Sacred places can inspire us. Sacred experiences can move us. But the true continuation of every spiritual journey begins within ourselves.

The pilgrimage may have ended. But the journey of the soul continues.

Some things are not meant to follow you into your next chapter

You have carried enough.

Enough guilt over things you cannot change.

Enough fear over things that have not happened.

Enough resentment over people who may never understand your pain.

Enough attachment to the person you once were.

Perhaps it is time to stop asking why the past happened.

And begin asking what the past has taught you.

Perhaps it is time to stop waiting for someone else to give you closure.

And begin creating a new relationship with your own story.

Perhaps it is time to stop searching for the light somewhere beyond yourself.

And finally recognise the flame that has been waiting within you all along.

This Diwali and Tihar season, do more than illuminate your home.

Illuminate your consciousness.

Do more than welcome blessings.

Create space for a new beginning.

Do more than wish for freedom.

Begin choosing it.

The Sacred Fire of Release

Release the Past. Reclaim Your Light. Return to Wholeness.

The fire does not need to destroy your past. It only needs to illuminate the path beyond it.
